Supporting the Future of Our Infantry Families

The Mississippi Rifles Chapter (MSRC) of the National Infantry Association, Inc. is proud to invest in the academic success of our community. We provide scholarship funds to help dedicated students pursue their first undergraduate or graduate degrees at accredited Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL).

Program Overview

Our scholarship is designed to honor the service of Infantry Soldiers and their families by easing the financial burden of higher education. Funds are paid directly to your chosen institution to cover tuition and essential fees.

  • Application Period: March 1, 2026 – June 1, 2026

  • Document Deadline: June 1, 2026

  • Award Frequency: Applicants may receive a maximum of two awards in their lifetime.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Affiliation: You must be an active member of the MSRC/NIA, or the child/grandchild of an active member.

  • Sponsorship: Your sponsor must be an active member of the Mississippi Army National Guard (Infantry Branch/MOS) or a retired member who maintains active MSRC/NIA membership.

  • Academic Standing: * High School seniors (or GED equivalents) must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

    • Current full-time college students must have maintained a 2.5 GPA in the preceding academic year.

  • Leadership: Demonstration of leadership through at least three extracurricular activities between 9th and 12th grade.

How to Apply

To ensure your application is considered “COMPLETE,” please follow these steps carefully. Incomplete submissions will not be processed.

Step 1: Prepare Your Documents

Gather the following required materials:

  • Resume or Soldier Readiness Brief (SRB) (for active service members).

  • Official Transcripts from your high school, college, or technical school.

  • Recommendation Letter(s): Minimum of one (maximum of three) from a teacher, professor, MSRC member, or NCO/Chain of Command.

  • Personal Essay: A signed essay (max 200 words) describing your future plans and reasons for your chosen field of study.

  • Sponsor Information: Your sponsor’s NIA membership number and a brief statement explaining your relationship.
